We’re brought together by a desire to live authentically
Cornerstone Christian Church is a thriving community that has grown from the roots Ps. Charles and Christine Newington put down in 1990. We have been gathering as a community—in worship and in love for Jesus—for nearly 30 years.
We are learning how to love God in daily life and to truly care for those around us in personal, local and global contexts.
We meet every Sunday at 81 Mina Parade in Alderley at 9.30am and 6.30pm.
9.30am works for most people. It’s more family friendly, with activities for pre-school and primary school-aged children. People generally stay around afterwards and chat over coffee, which is a good time to connect and make friends.
6.30pm runs out of the old Albion Baptist church hall. It’s a worship service connected to real needs in the community. It’s joyful, raw, and sometimes a bit messy.
Love our home
Cornerstone is a community of believers who want to do life together. We’re an extended family, a support system, and we welcome everyone who is on a journey of faith to discover Jesus as their saviour. We meet in many different ways and places, but we are united by the desire to be an open-hearted community. Our goal is to develop more ways to bring faith and healing to individuals, families and communities.
Love our community
We see a community of faith that is valued by the wider church because of our authentic witness to Jesus Christ in the power and personality of the Spirit: his integrity, vitality, creativity, generosity, and compassion. We want to develop more compassionate and practical community services to share the love of Christ with people who have special needs.
Love our world
We live in a tiny corner of the world and we want to share the love of Jesus with people who live in places where very little is known about Him. We want to express our joy and enthusiasm for Jesus in ways that help people to see how wonderful he is.
